The only one course in English is Biotechnology; other courses are in Polish. Take a look at the offer:

We educate in universal fields of study that guarantee a broad view of the modern world and provide preparation for careers in the bioeconomy. At the same time, we do not close off other opportunities for development, because we “BIO” people understand particularly well that everyone has different abilities and talents.

• Biomedical Technology is a new major for those who want to combine the latest technological solutions with in-depth biological knowledge to ensure advances in medicine, diagnostics and basic biological research.

• Biology is a course for those who will not be indifferent to any form of life, regardless of whether it is nice and fluffy, buzzing and flying, lofty and rustling in the wind, slimy in a pond or tasty and healthy on a bed. This is a course for those who cannot take their eyes off the fascinating microscopic images of smaller organisms, tissues, cells and microorganisms. It is ultimately a direction for those who want to inquire how a simple genetic record is transformed into a multitude of forms and how the balance between them is established.

• Biotechnology (in Polish) is a major for those who want to help the planet and people by understanding and using natural biological mechanisms The multitude of applications of biotechnology is illustrated by the colours: white biotechnology is used in industry and processing, green in agriculture and food production, red in medicine and veterinary medicine, blue in environmental protection. Biotechnology is an opportunity to improve lives, and a hope for the sick, the malnourished and the environment.
Biotechnology is also big business, but also fear of the new and unknown – so there is the colour purple, which is the law governing all aspects related to this field.

• Biotechnology (in English) is a multidisciplinary field of study, combining knowledge of life sciences and engineering, aiming to use the living organisms in product development, testing and manufacturing. In addition to general topics students can focus on biotechnology of plants, animals and microorganisms gaining practical and theoretical knowledge. Our aim is to provide a solid foundation for future careers in food and pharmaceutical industry, diagnostics, plant breeding companies, research institutions and many others. We put special attention on cutting edge topics including bioinformatics, genomics, nanobiotechnology and genetic engineering.

We are also open to the world – student exchange programmes are encouraged and staff boast collaborations with international research centres. The WBiB is also a place for comprehensive personal development with a large offer of university student organisations, sports clubs or cultural institutions in a beautiful European city. After all, WBiB means valuable acquaintances and friendships that often last a lifetime.
